Welcome to the CAMBIUM NRT!
Climate change Adaptation and Mitigation through Biodiversity Informatics edUcation and Mentoring, or CAMBIUM, is a National Science Foundation Research Traineeship (NRT) program aimed to integrate biodiversity, health, social, and policy data using a One Health framework that uses a transdisciplinary approach to prepare the next generation of students to address Grand Challenges of the 21st century.
The CAMBIUM NRT brings together graduate students from diverse disciplines to develop the data science and policy skills required to address three major challenges:
- Predicting potential biodiversity loss
- Adapting to loss
- Informing action
OUR MISSION
Train and prepare a new generation of scientists to harness the revolution in biodiversity big data to help society adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change. CAMBIUM will create a thriving, sustainable model for training scientists to work across disciplines and acquire the skills to use bioinformatics and big data integration to predict outcomes and inform decisionmaking.
